The remains of Yılmaz Uzun (Tolhildan Tekman), a member of the People’s Defense Forces (HPG) who lost his life in an airstrike in Siirt in 2020 along with five others, were delivered to his family in a box on September 1, Peace Day, after three years.

According to the news from Mezopotamya Agency, despite providing a blood sample for the identification of the body in 2020 and the results being completed, the family was not informed. Uzun’s body was buried in the Cemetery for the Unclaimed.

“They didn’t inform the family”

Father İbrahim Uzun, who received his son’s remains in a box, said, “My son lost his life in 2020. During those times, I provided a blood sample in Siirt. Even though the results came out in 2021, they didn’t inform us. Later, we submitted another petition. They have now delivered the remains to us.”

The family set out towards the Tatos district of Erzurum after receiving the body remains of their son.(EMK/PE)
