President-CEO (Publisher)

We are looking for an experienced, community-focused, and revenue-oriented Publisher-CEO to lead Fort Wayne Newspapers (FWN) in Fort Wayne, Indiana, along with a group of Community Newspapers in Northern Indiana.  FWN is a joint operating agreement (JOA) between Ogden Newspapers, a family-owned company founded in 1890, and The Journal Gazette, Co, privately owned by the Inskeep family in Fort Wayne since its founding in 1899.

The Journal Gazette is a 25,000 circulation daily nestled in the heart of the second largest city in Indiana. The other publications are located in Northern Indiana and consist of other small dailies and weekly publications.

With 80 award-winning parks, 100 miles of trails and three rivers, Fort Wayne is a playground for residents and visitors of all ages. Fort Wayne has been voted one of the top cities in the country to raise a family.  This, along with its steady economy, affordable housing and high scores in education made it a great place to live and work.

Fort Wayne is home to three different minor league teams, including the Midwest Baseball League, Fort Wayne Tin Caps, the East Coast Hockey League, Fort Wayne Komets, and the NBA G League, Fort Wayne Mad Ants.

The ideal candidate for this position will bring experience developing high-performing advertising (print and digital success), production, circulation and the business departments. This individual will be responsible for the following items of the operation:

·      Lead a high performing team of editorial and advertising professionals.

·      Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve circulation, revenue, and profitability goals.

·      Manage daily operations including printing, distribution, and digital platforms.    –

·      Monitor financial performance and implement cost-effective measures when necessary.

·      Oversee budgeting and financial planning processes for all operations.

·      Build and maintain relationships with advertisers, subscribers, community leaders, and stakeholders.

·      Help drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance online presence and reader engagement.

·      Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and innovation.

Above all, we are looking for a conscientious leader who builds teams and inspires employees to do their best.

FWN offers a friendly working environment. Benefits include health, dental, vision and life insurance as well as paid vacation, sick leave, and 401K, plus a match.

If joining a company dedicated to newspapers in a vibrant community that is loaded with amenities is on your agenda, Fort Wayne Newspapers is likely your ideal destination.
